haha bukan movie tapi panggilan baru kpd mat2 rempit .. thugs on wheel ataupon samseng jalanan
dulu sibuk panggil mat rempit tapi skang tukar dah , atas alasan nama dulu telah menglamerkan mereka .. jadi bila dipanggil samseng jalanan , mereka tidak akan glamer lagi ? haha pelik2

KUALA LUMPUR (May 19, 2009) : Police said today they will now call illegal street racers Samseng Jalanan or Thugs-on-Wheels (TOW), instead of Mat Rempit as the term appears to have created a "glamourous" image for such rowdies.

They said Samseng Jalanan or Thugs-on-Wheels (TOW) are appropriate references for the havoc these people cause and the crimes they commit.

"We do not want to glamourise them with the name Mat Rempit so the police have decided to call them Samseng Jalanan," Federal traffic police chief SAC II Datuk Abdul Aziz Yusof said at a press conference at Dataran Merdeka to announce a joing operation with enforcement agencies to eradicate the menace nationwide.

He said police are going all-out to clamp down on the activities of these motorcyclists.

Sixty-nine were nabbed in 689 operations nationwide from May 1 to 17. Thirty-three of them have been charged with various offences and the rest are still under investigation. A whopping 62% of those caught were aged between 15 and 20.

Cheah urged the Home Ministry to expedite the setting up of a committee to deal with the problem.
